Reading on the website
Open Books, choose a title and select the reading option on its page. The public collection is free to read. The browser reader needs an internet connection to load the book.
If pages do not appear, check your connection and reload the page. Try a current browser version, and turn your device to landscape if you would like more room for a spread.

Our iPad and iPhone reader is in testing. Its help page explains preview availability, opening stories, local preferences and clearing reading data.

We are not currently taking payments or shipping print orders through this website. The book pages show the reading formats available for each title.
Privacy questions
The website and native reader have separate policies because they handle information differently. You can read either without signing in.
