Who we are
Puddlebend operates this site and publishes the books shown here.
The site is a catalog and reader. There are no accounts, checkout, or photo upload.
Children
The books and reader are designed for children ages 2–7. The reader does not ask a child for a name, contact details, photo, voice, precise location, or message, and it does not save reading progress.
Like nearly every website, the reader receives limited technical identifiers when a page opens. We use them only to deliver and protect the service, measure performance, and fix errors, as described below. We do not use them to contact a child, advertise, or build a profile.
What we collect
We do not run accounts, newsletters, payments, comments, or advertising. We do not set marketing cookies.
When a page opens, Vercel and Cloudflare receive the page address, IP address, browser information, and time so they can deliver and protect it.
Public catalogue, About and browser-reader pages may send Vercel a page-speed measurement. If a page breaks, Sentry receives an error report with the page address, browser type, and error. Browser session replay and Sentry performance tracing are disabled. The reader sends neither replays nor performance samples to Sentry. Our app-information, help and legal pages do not send browser telemetry. Website hosting and security still process the requests needed to serve those pages.
If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you write. Please do not email a child's photo or unnecessary identifying details.
Technical identifiers
Under the U.S. children's privacy rule, an IP address or similar persistent identifier can be personal information. We use technical identifiers without prior parental consent only for these internal operations:
- delivering the requested page and images
- measuring page speed and reliability
- finding and fixing errors
- protecting the service against fraud, abuse, and attacks
We do not use these identifiers to contact a person, show behavioral advertising, follow anyone across services, or build a profile.
Service providers
For the public site:
- Vercel: serves the pages and receives page-speed measurements
- Cloudflare: routes the domain and delivers book images
- Sentry: receives error reports when a page breaks
We do not sell personal information or disclose it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information when legally required or needed to protect a child, a person, or the service.
Retention
We do not keep a customer database.
We retain technical reports and hosting or security records for service operation, troubleshooting and protection, under the applicable provider retention settings. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable legal requirements. We do not keep personal information indefinitely simply because it may be useful later.
Your privacy rights
Email privacy@puddlebend.com to ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you or your child
- provide a copy or correct it
- delete it or stop further collection
We will verify the request through the adult, never the child, and respond within the period required by applicable law, generally within 45 days for U.S. state privacy requests. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision and may contact your state attorney general. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Because we do not sell information, use it for targeted advertising, or profile visitors, Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals do not change how this site operates.
Security
We use HTTPS and service protections and do not store payment cards or child profiles.
If a breach affects personal information, we will notify affected people and authorities when the law requires it.
Changes to this notice
We will post a revised notice and change its date. This revision distinguishes the native reader policy from the website and updates our browser-monitoring and retention descriptions. If a material change requires notice or consent, we will provide it before the change applies.
